Back Again...

     So I'm back. Not much has been done in regards to the wedding. I've been catching a lot of slack though for wanting/having an outdoor wedding. I'm having an outdoor wedding in the beginning of October people, just please deal with it and be happy with me. On the suggestion Chris we will be having a plan B for bad weather. Unless it is freezing though I am not having it inside if it's only 50 some degrees out. I am having a short ceremony so you wont be there for very long. Again please just be happy with me.
     Christmas is coming closer everyday now. I'm almost done with buying and wrapping Christmas presents. I'm excited. I hope everyone likes/enjoys what I got for them. John got Dad a puppy for his Birthday/Christmas. His name is BlackJack and he is an adorable little Begale. I can't wait to meet him tonight, will def post pictures later.
     Speaking of pictures, I've been working more on my photography a lot more. I'm excited, hopefully I can get some more work for my portfolio over break. I've done pretty well in my classes. I'm not in a class this semester so hopefully I can still keep up with my photography. I've almost become obsessed with it, Chris and I have talked a lot about photography lately. We are interested in getting two different types of photographers for the wedding. We want one artistic one and one which is more traditional. I will probably have to talk to Dan about it later.
     Well I've gotta book it, Chris wants to watch 'The Big Bang Theory'. Yay!

Hiatus

Well now that I have Blogger on my phone I can keep everyone updated on wedding things. I am really excited because today after class Chris and I have a meeting with Dan to work on invites and stationary for the wedding. I'm super excited. Well this one has to be short since my class starts in 10 min but I will post more tonight after seeing Dan.

ER trips suck

     So I had to visit the ER on Sunday. I was having horrid chest pain and I couldn't catch my breath. I was so worried about having heart problems or something like that, thank god it was only heartburn. Though I do have to say GERD (heartburn/acid re-flux) totally sucks. I have been in pain ever since and now I don't feel all to good. I haven't really been able to eat anything but milk, tea and oyster crackers. I had a sandwich last night and it tasted great but before bed I was in pain again. Not sure if it was the sandwich or the pill they are making me take. Either way this whole thing sucks. I wish I could just get better and be done with it.
     Seeing as I haven't been able to do much since I've been in pain I've been attached to The Disney Wedding Blog and a site called Pinterest (thanks Bre). I love the Disney Blog and I'm thinking I'm might try and add a few Disney things to our wedding.

So I'm posting about a contest I just entered to win a bunch of stuff having to do with Disney's 40th Anniversery. I am super excited about it too because we are going to Disney this winter for it too! I love Disney! I'm hoping Chris and I can get a few of our engagement pictures done there by Shari or the photographers there. I think it would be very much us. Kind of a hiatus...

     So I thought I would be all gun-ho with this wedding thing but I've kind of hit a hiatus. I kind of want to power through things and get them done but with two years and not much money it's kind of hard. We were going to have our engagement party next month but because of all of the time conflicts it's not going to happen until next summer. Bummer. We have so much going on this August though. We have Sabina and her family coming in from Slovenia Aug. 1st and staying until the 18th. We will be in Chicago and all over the state the first week of Aug. so we shouldn't even notice.
     We have some ideas running my head though for the wedding. We will be doing shot glasses with our monogram ( we still don't have one though.) We will be doing a dessert bar with favor boxes so that our guests can take desserts home. I plan on having a bunch of different desserts; cheesecake pops, chocolate truffles, cookies, cake, etc... I'm very excited. I'm going to talk to Chris' brother about possibly doing our monogram and  stationary since he is a graphic design artist. I just don't know if he will have time.
     Well I should probably go. We are having a Harry Potter marathon at the Jackson's. I do need to sleep soon though because I have 4-H camp tomorrow. Yay.

Wedding Rant...

     Ok so I'm kinda put off. Yes I'm not getting married for another two years and some odd months but can people still be excited for me, I mean come on. Ever since I got engaged my family has been like 'Yup, Whatever, Sure.' My own sister was like 'You woke me up, nice you're getting married.' She still is acting bitchy and I asked her to be my MOH. I'm wondering if I made the right choice. I wish my Dad would at least smile about the whole thing too. I know he has a lot on his plate with John's recent Open House and Mom and all that but seriously. How often does your eldest daughter get engaged?
     I know Chris' family is excited about it all but now they are questioning why I am doing stuff already. I'm dress shopping now (it's only four weeks since I've been engaged) and they are saying it's stupid since styles will be out of season. I'm not caring much about styles because I want something that is me and fits by body. I'm just really frustrated that everyone is either questioning me or not caring. I know I should be used to it, my family not being big on any show of emotion but come on.
     Okay well I'm going to end this rant and go watch a movie or go to bed. I just needed to clear my head and get it off my chest. Not sure it helped but at least it's out in the open now. Thanks.

Bridal presents and dresses...

     So I went bridal dress shopping for the first time ever yesterday. I went with Shari and Kellie. It felt really weird. I couldn't look at myself in the mirror with the first dress for about ten minutes or so. It was just really surreal and kinda overwhelming. I did find out a few dress styles that I can't wear and a few that I can. I'm not looking for thee dress yet but just narrowing it all down. I think I found Kellie's (she's a BM) dress though, going with a one shoulder purple. I know Sammi, my MOH, will be in black though I don't know the style and Heather, a BM, will be in purple but I'm not sure on the style. I wish she lived closer so we could go shopping together.
     On another note, I think I know what I'm getting Chris for his groom's gift. I think I want to do a boudoir shoot. I am terrified of this because I am on the bigger side but I think it might be fun. I was surfing online and there is a studio in Royal Oaks that is reasonably priced and I think I would be comfortable doing it with her. I'm not too sure yet but it's an idea and sometime I've wanted to do for awhile now.
     Well I am off to go take a shower and make dinner. Love ya'll!

My Proposal Story! :D

     We went to Canada to St. Catherine's for a regatta competition for Chris' (the groom's) cousin. We went with his grandparents who also took us to Niagara Falls after the regatta was finished. We stayed in the Embassy Suites with an amazing view of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. We went down to the falls to view them from the Table Rock with Grandma and Grandpa Bradt. Being as this was my first time to the falls it was beautiful. Chris and I decided that we wanted to take the Journey behind the Mists and went down below the falls. We walked all the way down to the last hole in the falls after Chris said we could go out to the lookout and get wet after we explored the rest of the Canadian falls. We then went to the second hole where we were all alone and he was leaning around me. He then pulled away and got down on one knee with a pretty little white box. I freaked. :D He didn't say anything cheesy or tacky. It was a simple "Marry Me." I kept saying "Thank You" and "I love you." I didn't even say yes until we were walking down to the hall to the lookout. I got a beautiful little white gold ring with our birthstones (amethyst and peridot) in the shape of hearts with two tiny diamonds around it. I love it! I am so excited to be engaged and in love with the best man ever!

Sorry it's been so long...

    Wow, I hadn't realized it's been so long since I have last been on here. I really need to start keeping up with these things (something I always say) so that I can keep my friends and family up to date with what I do. Alas I just get busy and things slip through the cracks. I hope you all can forgive me for this though. :D
     Well I guess since I'm updating everyone on my actions I should let you all know that I have finished one more year of school. If everything goes right I should be finishing school at the end of the year next year. I've been applying to jobs in the Grand Rapids and Lansing areas. I'm looking into working at a museum and also possibly going into Event Planning. I'm kind of interested in working at either a Bridal Firm or an all around Event Planning Firm. Definitely not what I thought I would be wanting to do seven years ago.
     Also come Tuesday I will be going to Niagara Falls for the first time. I am so excited. We are going to watch Tim row in what I think is his last regatta of his high school career. Tim by the way is one of Chris' cousins for those who don't know. I'm excited though, and after that we going with his grandparents to New York to work on their family genealogy. Then when we come back to Michigan on the 11th we will be going to Andy Miller's graduation party (another one of Chris' cousins.) He just finished Central and we are all so excited.
    So I guess this is where I am. Hopefully I can try and keep this more to date. Even if no one else reads this it will help me with my writing and gets everything out of me. Guess I should go, Chris is heading into the High School to work and I need to head to the grocery store for Sangria stuff. :D
